Zappos Headquarters in Downtown Las Vegas – Former City Hall Building
Zappos relocated their business from San Francisco, CA to Henderson, NV in 2004; just like many other companies based in California for a number of reasons but mostly for the tax breaks and the lower cost of living.
“On September 9, 2013, Zappos moved their headquarters from Henderson, Nevada to the former Las Vegas City Hall building in downtown Las Vegas, after an extensive $48 million effort to renovate and make major improvements to the building.[29][30][31][32] CEO Tony Hsieh, who also leads the Downtown Project, an effort to revitalize downtown Las Vegas as a vibrant cultural and economic hotspot, has said he wants “to be in an area where everyone feels like they can hang out all the time and where there’s not a huge distinction between working and playing.”[33] The move was lauded by Las Vegas mayor Oscar Goodman who said “this will be a game changer for Southern Nevada. This move will bring about a critical mass of creative persons to the inner core of Las Vegas in addition to causing a significant shot in the arm for the economy and for new jobs.”[33][34]” -(Wikipedia)
Zappos recently released pictures of the renovated city hall – ZAPPOS OFFICE PICTURES.
Looks like a nice place to work, similar to Google’s Offices — Here is a link to Google’s office in Mountain View – which I believe is where they filmed The Internship – (which is a really great movie – you should totally watch it if you haven’t already)
Which company would you rather work for? Let me know in the comments section. 🙂
Hope you enjoy!!
