All Inclusive Travel Junkies
It was our 10th wedding anniversary, so my husband and I decided to treat ourselves to a long weekend away for just us. We love to travel and travel with our two girls a lot – but this is a significant anniversary, and we wanted a second honeymoon. 🙂 So we started searching for all inclusive cancun 5 star resorts that were adults only.
We are frequent all-inclusive travelers and have visited Mexico and the Caribbean multiple times. This was our 4th trip to Mexico, our 5th trip to the Caribbean, and our 7th all-inclusive vacation. We have brought our oldest to Mexico once – and will be taking both girls with us on our next trip. This is to say that this is not our first rodeo – and our expectations are high for all-inclusive.
Picking The Location
We researched different countries and resorts for days and days, trying to find the best opportunity for us to have a long weekend with good flights. Mexico is always a good time for us, and even though we always have to have a stop on the way – we were able to get some pretty reasonable flights, so we booked it. When it comes to picking an all-inclusive resort – I HIGHLY RECOMMEND splurging. Always go for the 5-star resort – 4 stars if you have to. WHY? Because I’m bougie ??♀️. I’m kidding, but I’m not kidding. The REAL reason is because of the FOOD.
Why five stars matter
The comfy bed, the number of restaurants and bars, having a swim-up bar, the pampering, and the food quality. These are the reasons you splurge. It is worth it because you pay for all your food, drinks, and snacks when you book the resort. Room service, coffee, everything is included. You don’t want to get sick – and you want your food to be delicious. So, splurge. It’s worth it – and you are worth it. You don’t need your wallet once you check-in.
All Inclusive cancun 5 star resort – adults only
La Blanc Spa Resort Cancun Mexico
Our five star adults only all inclusive resorts in Cancun we picked was Le Blanc Spa Resort Cancun. I picked this resort for a few reasons.
- 5 Star Hotel
- Top Tier Food (as researched on Trip Advisor Reviews & Pictures)
- Cafe with snacks and coffee on the property (THIS IS A MUST – trust me. We stayed at one resort that didn’t have it, and it was truly sad)
- Ice Cream, Churros, Snacks Poolside
- Beautifully upgraded and modern rooms, butler service, pillow menu, and room service.
They have a beautiful resort, and the staff were attentive with service and made everything super convenient. We truly had a great time. It was a little more laid back and less of a party resort than some resorts we have been to, but it was just what we needed.
Favorite Amenities At an all inclusive cancun 5 star resort
Some of the perks for staying at an all inclusive Cancun 5 star resort that is adults only are the extra amenities. They did go over the top for their guests. That 5-star service makes you feel like royalty.
Pool Side Services
- Towel Service: When you want to go to the pool, you walk over to the pool house, and an attendant will grab your towels and lay them out on the chairs you like. They set up the umbrella and get you an ice bucket with bottled water.
- Sunscreen Bar: At the pool house, the attendants have a sunscreen bar. I’ve never seen this before and thought it was terrific. They have giant containers labeled with different levels of sunscreen. For example, they had 30 SPF and 50 SPF after sun lotion & tanning lotion.
- Drink of the Day: In the afternoon, they would walk by with a drink of the day. They had one with alcohol and one without. They were always refreshing and delicious.
- Mini Facial By the Pool: Every day, they would walk around while you are lying out and offer a mini facial. It’s like an ultra mini. A little spritz of water, fresh cucumbers for your eyes, a cool towel over your face, and a mini shoulder massage. I did this once, and it was so nice on a hot day.
Room Services at an all inclusive cancun 5 star resort
- Butler Service: Each floor has a dedicated butler to assist with making dining reservations, spa reservations, etc. This is how we discovered they did a turtle release the first night we got to the property. We would have never known. It was amazing.
- Turn Down Service: Most hotels do turn down service, but this hotel was memorable. Every night, they would leave a little treat with a quote. They would turn on the TV to relaxing jazz music with a video of the ocean at night time with “Good Night” and “Buenos Noches.”
- Pillow Menu: You could call on the phone and request different pillows. They had Tempurpedic pillows and different levels of goose pillows available.
- 24-Hour Room Service: It was available, but we didn’t use it this time.
Gym
Their hotel gym was well-equipped. It’s the best hotel gym I’ve been to. They had a ton of cardio machines, a bunch of strength machines, free weights, and fitness classes. I was able to take a reformer pilates class while we were there. The gym also was equipped with bottled water and healthy snacks.
Food
The food at this all inclusive Cancun 5 star resort was amazing. The buffets were top-tier. They had terrific pastries, an omelet station, delicious food, endless fruit, and a mimosa bar. The lunch buffet had an ice cream sunday station and a customized pasta station. The steakhouse was one of our favorites, as was the Japanese restaurant. Overall, we enjoyed all the food and cocktails and didn’t get sick once.
Comparing different all inclusive cancun 5 star resorts
As I mentioned before, this was our 4th time in Mexico, and it was our 2nd time in Cancun. The last time we came to Cancun, we stayed at Secrets the Vine, another all inclusive Cancun 5 star resort that was adults only.
Both resorts are beautiful and have amazing service and fantastic food. The key differences are as follows:
Location
Le Blanc is further North in the Hotel zone and is a quieter beach and not as close to the hustle and bustle of the Hotel Zone. Secrets The Vine is more central in the hotel zone is close to the mall, and has more people walking the beach and trying to sell you stuff. So if you like to venture off property, it’s easy to walk to the mall and to a nice dinner at Harry’s, which we did when we stayed there. Both locations are fine. It is just your preference. The beach is beautiful at both resorts.
Atmosphere
Le Blanc is focused on relaxing and pampering, whereas Secrets entertainment is a little more exciting. Le Blanc had a lot of live music where artists played popular songs but no vocals. The cello was playing the part of the vocals at Lumiere restaurant, and a violinist was playing the vocals by the pool. Secrets had a quiet pool, but the main pool had a DJ, which was more of a party. Again, there’s nothing wrong with either one – just a different vibe.
If you plan a trip to Cancun – I highly recommend both hotels. Depending on what you want to do on your vacation, you can decide which one is more your style. I’ll write a post about Secrets The Vine soon and then link it here. 🙂
